ABOUT SAM TAYLOR

Sam is a Registered Psychologist with experience across assessment, individual therapy, and group-based programs. She has a strong interest in working with children and adolescents and supports a wide range of presentations including anxiety, depression, school refusal, bullying, emotional regulation difficulties, social challenges, and neurodivergent presentations.

Sam has experience working within early years and child-focused settings, supporting young people and their families across both therapeutic and educational contexts. She values a collaborative approach and, where appropriate, works closely with caregivers, schools, and other professionals to ensure holistic and consistent support. Sam understands the importance of building strong partnerships to promote meaningful and sustainable change.

Sam has a particular passion for working with neurodivergent children and young people and takes a strengths-based, affirming approach to care. Her therapeutic work draws on evidence-based approaches tailored to each individual, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and elements of art-based therapy to support expression and emotional processing. She incorporates creative strategies where appropriate, recognising that some children communicate and process experiences more comfortably through visual and hands-on approaches.

Sam prioritises creating a safe, warm, and trusting therapeutic space where young people feel heard and understood. Her gentle, relational style allows clients to work at their own pace while developing a personalised “support toolkit” of practical strategies. Sam is dedicated to empowering children and adolescents to better understand themselves, navigate challenges with confidence, and build strong foundations for lifelong wellbeing.
